This is an interesting article on how the lack of tracking and comments features in OOo have forced a writer to drop their usage of Linux for work based writing and moved to Windows.

The Windows emulation didn't work well enough to use Word on Linux.

"Linux expert switches to... Windows?!"

"There’s a good reason, however. Apress makes heavy use of Word’s revision tracking function during book production, as well as its commenting function. Word places comments in call-out balloons in the right margin and automatically connects the balloon to the text via a line. In a similar way, deleted text is automatically placed in a balloon alongside the text, so I can instantly see what’s been deleted and where it came from."

As both a Linux and OOo promoter, an article like this is quite interesting.

I wonder how long until Microsoft gets wind of this and starts blowing it out of proportion.
