Not quite sure where to post suggestions as I have
already completed the registration questionnaire - I
installed 2.0.3 on W2K sucessfully yesterday but I
have noticed today that it created what seems to be a
temp install directory on my desktop with 96Mb of
files in there. If you don't want to be cursed by IT
depts everywhere (or at least those who allow users to
install their own software) then the desktop is not a
good place to use for the temp install files as it
will copy back to the server if roaming profiles are
used - IMHO it would be better (and more appropriate)
to use the windows temp directory.... =8)

Interesting. When I unpack on XP Pro, I am given an opportunity to
change the Destination Folder from the default.
I tried this a couple of times on W2K and AFAICT was given the choice of where to put the installation files but not where to put the actual files. Fortunately the default happens to be "Program Files"

Please use a custom installation if you want OOo to install other than
in the standard places. This option provides this opportunity.
The minor problem is that the non-custom installation doesn't tell us where it is doing the install. Many other installers tell you where the software is about to be installed and then give you a chance to change it.

Until I searched for where the installation was going I didn't know whether I could remove the install files.
