I am going to start using Open Office in the next couple of weeks. My 14
year old son will be using both Open Office and Gimp at the Battle Creek
Area Math and Science Center in Battle Creek, Mi. This advanced school is
using both of these platforms because they are compatible with Microsoft's Office 2003 and Adobe's Photoshop CS. They are also a less costly (free) way
of teaching the children the various skills needed to assure a successful
future. I have personally used Microsoft Office 2003 and the Beta 2007 along with Adobe Photoshop in the Graphic Arts industry for years. I look forward to using Open Office but am wondering if at some point an E-mail client will
be included in the Suite ?

Thank You,

Hi David, this had been discussed in the past, since there are already other open source (free) mail client applications like Mozilla Thunderbird we do not see the need to put development effort on creating a new mail client. Instead we focus on keeping the current modules improving and making the application more agile.
