Are there any plans to create a redaction tool similiar to the tool Microsoft
made available as an add in to Office 2003? A tool for redaction would be
beneficial to those who use Open Office for creating legal manuals and
documents that may be subject to the Federal Freedom of Information Act.
Appligent makes a similar tool for Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. Adobe's is
over $400 but the tool microsoft released for Office 2003 is free.
I know I for one would be most greatful if a simple redaction tool is created.
Right now I have to use highlighting to redact which is fine to print out a
hard copy but if emailing the black highlight can be removed revealing the text
that should have been redacted.
