I think it's brilliant - because it's more or less a no brainer to use
and it's really intuitive.
Granted tho that the OO Draw is not a FULL 3D engineering / drawing
and designing program like AUTOCAD, but in terms of being "almost
there" it's really sort of nearly there.
I'd like to see the OO DRAW program uprated into something similar to
or as good as the AutoCAD program.
A sort of "full on" drawing program.

This is something so different in purpose from an office productivity
suite that I suspect that it would require a forking of the code to
accomplish it. Since OOo is open source, this is possible. I doubt
that there would be any interest in Sun's developers or management in
doing this, that is why I mentioned a fork in the code. It seems more
to me like a project for engineering students who also are studying
programming, and might just be fed up with the obsene prices for
virtually all commercial CAD software, partictlarly AutoCAD. I myself
used to use a program called Generic CAD for doing circuit board
designs, but this was durring DOS days and they were bought-out and
destroyed by AutoCAD which I suspect had no desire to see a popular
priced CAD program on the market.
