Hi Philip,

OpenOffice.org has the ability to create PDFs built in.

I use this feature often to create PDF files.

For example the MiniBooks section on my website (Accessed via 
www.JustLocal.com.au and selecting MiniBooks) have PDFs which have been 
created using OpenOffice.org.

I also create my business cards using Draw and then exporting as a PDF.

The feature works very well.
