I've made an experimental update patch for german 2.2.0 -> 2.2.1 based on xdelta3, which has only 5,8 MB and can be applied to installed 2.2.0. You can try this patch and maybe such smaller update-files could be supplied for future bugfix-releases? just decompress into same directory as OOo is (c:\program files\) in, and run batch-apply.bat. First you have to take care of locked files in OOo directory, so use unlocker tool to unlock them all.
