I tried similar with bsdiff/bspatch from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 which produced
similar results. I wonder which one might be the more effective one ?

just decompress into same directory as OOo is (c:\program files\) in, and run
batch-apply.bat.
First you have to take care of locked files in OOo directory,
so use unlocker tool to unlock them all. Check for error messages that appear
if files are locked.
