Hi there,

So i've just installed OpenOffice 2.2 for work, this is the second time i've
used open office, the first a few years ago. Always thought it was a decent
prorgam if a little quirky.

Now I wasn't sure where to post this, but anyway here goes:

The Autocomplete feature. I hate it. I really really really dislike it. I
find it distracting, throwing up words that have nothing to do with what I'm
working on. Generally it breaks up my train of thought.

So I wanted to turn it off. So I went to Tools->Options->Writing Aids. That
seemed the logical place for such a Writing Aid to be located. But no, the
option is in fact under Auto-Correct->Word Completion.

Which was why I spent a fruitless half an hour searching the help file and
mailing list looking for instructions to disable the feature.

Suggestions -

-> standardise the feature name. Is it autocomplete or is it word
completion? Makes it impossible to find help when a feature has several
different names!
-> place options under the "Writing Aids" menu. This seems extremely logical
to me, and obvious.
-> lastly, instructions in help file on how to deactivate the
autowordcompletionaryism feature.

Well, that's all... I do think Open Office could be great but little quirks
like this make it appear inaccessible or awkward to use... we don't all want
all the features all of the time :)

thanks.
