Hi Gregory
Is there any plans for a "outlook challenging" mail client to be added
to the open office suite? Currently, for a user who must run a windows
based workstation, the need for Outlook in order to work with an
exchange server ensures continued reliance on Office Suites.
The only "Outlook-like" program that works on Windows and plays with
Exchange server that I know of is Evolution. Novell are working at making
it play nicely in a Windows environment.
I'm not sure how well the Windows version works, though. It's probably
worth trying.

Windows seem to be working hard at making Exchange server and Sharepoint
their next lock-in strategies. There are some projects that are aiming at
being Exchange replacements, but they won't help you in your current
situation.
I hope this helps.
Adrian
