Thank you for your request, OpenProj was released last month and is a
complete replacement of Microsoft Project. You should check out
http://www.openproj.org It even opens existing native Microsoft
Project files including Office 2007 format, y ou can simply open your
existing files and start working. OpenProj runs on Linux, Unix, Mac or
Windows so it has many advantages and is free, Open Source software.
The OpenProj solution has over 100,000 downloads in the first month ...
that is pretty good considering SugarCRM only has 400k in their
lifetime. The OpenProj solution has a large community that has already
translated it into Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian
and Chinese.
This should take care of you very well, here is a nice review

Developers,
I have been searching for a good open source project management
program that allows for simple project management (such as Gantt
charts, task creation and assignments, etc.). I have yet to find one
that suits my needs. It seems plausible that this program should be
part of a larger office suite, such as OpenOffice. I have been using
OpenOffice for a few years now and am very pleased with it. I feel
that a project management program would be a nice extension to the suite.
Thanks for the consideration.
