I'm sorry, but the mail merge function is not working for me. 1) Like it or not, large numbers of Open Office users will be moving from Microsoft Office or Word Perfect (or both). It would really be nice if merge documents created in one of these formats could be easily converted for use in Open Office.
2) Not all merge files use data from an existing address list or database. Sometimes I just need to create a letter and send it to five or six people I've never contacted before and never will again. 3) The Mail Merge wizard doesn't work. I leave creating my address list and I'm left with no valid choices, I can't move on. 4) So how does one (with only the sketchiest programming capability) become involved in developing Open Office?
