sorry, but I'm frustrated. And this is the end of a nice chain, of this will
fix your problem issues.

cutting out the long chain of events.
nope, I should put this in context.

a> You need to convert these documents into Wiki format for posting...
b> There aren't any really good tools for document conversion.
Why? Wiki's aren't document replacment formats
 a> do it anyway.

aa> OpenOffice has a format that writes in Wiki from a word environment. That
should fix all your problems.

cc> skip all the issues about using OO in a restricted environment

bb> Portable OO is installed on a USB stick

How to write to wiki format? google shows multiple hits that all are versions
of http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Convert2MediaWiki

Such promising prose of how easy this process will be!

The download for this wonderful tool is broken. <frustration 1>

it should be easy to tell someone that there is a broken link. There isn't any
notification target listed.

however if you become a Developer one can get a login, to write a message that
such and such link is broken. Just a little to much overkill here.

Is there any simple way for casual/potiential users of OO to notify someone
that pages are being advertised as providing XY (and XY is one of those things
that you must have OO installed, and that it's worth the effort/time..).
Nope you must be a developer to do anything.

// but IMHO most developers don't have time/interest in fixing things around
the edge of their own issues, or identifying documentation problems etc.
// If I had the time or interest to devote to fixing your documentation for
your project, i should use that time to fix -my- project.

in short, the conversion filter is missing. So OO won't assist me with the
task at hand. So it's time to uninstall OO and find something else to get this
task done.

In short, OOwriter doesn't write to Wiki format despite the hype

[[ frustration.. Writers, Blogers and Documenters hyping some product as a
solution to BigProblem_21, without having tried to install or use the product.
Yes, it looks good on paper, but don't hype something -unless- you know
something about the product in question. most likely just as frustrating for
you'all for the same reasons..]]
