Michael,

Thanks for the update. I'll pass this on and see what our committee comes up with.

I am a teacher and I am proposing using Open Office in order to save the cost of purchasing a commercial Office suite for computers being deployed to our classrooms.

Is there currently a plan to implement 'dynamic updating' for Open Office instead of having to completely install a new version every time?

The short answer is no.

Solutions range from downloading once to deploy network wide, to using USB sticks or burning CD-R for distribution. Personally i favour the use of USB sticks by students allowing them to take a copy home, as CD-R tend to not work on all machines and USB sticks are excellent for
homework.
