People at,

I discovered your OpenOffice today on the Internet. Why not I said and
discovered in about three seconds that it solves a problem I've been having
with Word for over ten years. So I'm yours for life. Two critical
suggestions however please, and let me know when somebody has done the fix.

I am doing currently doing a large data project that involves a number of
files in a number of different directories spread between two drives. Some
of the files have the same file names and I use the paths to tell me which
is which. Which is problem number one. OpenOffice shows the file name only
at the top left of an open file. To tell which file I'm in, if say I've gone
to another file and need to come back to say do a paste, I have to check the
file by using 'Save As'. Then clicking along until I see the whole path so
as not to edit in the wrong file. Every single time. Grrrrr. Can you please
show the whole path at the top left of each file. You have the whole line to
do it in so why not. Mammoth time saver. Thank you.

Second, every time I want to open another file with one or more already
opened, the pull down is defaulted at 'Documents'. Same as Word. Colossally
irritating. It should open at the last directory I was in even after closing
out OpenOffice and returning later, as that is most likely where I want to
return to if in the middle of something. At the very least I can usually get
to where I want to go a lot easier than starting out from 'Documents' every
single time. I'm not four or a Grandmother.

Thank you, and sincerely,

cl.
