I just came across your absolutely wonderful office suite. Wow! I just
cannot believe this. I have a couple suggestions that will make it even
better.
1. Adding html code. You may be familiar with the three tabs in Outlook
Express - edit, source, and preview. This could be helpful. But for
newbies that know html (just enough to get them in trouble), I would like a
little popup insert box. Let's say I want to view a picture in my document,
using html just like on a web page. Normally, it would be something like
<img src=urlofpic> But in this little popup box, we click where we want the
picture to show, and then we right click to get the popup box. It asks for
the url of the photo, and presto. No actual pictures to increase huge file
sizes. Just a url which makes the photo appear exactly like a web page (no
clicking to make it appear).
2. Add Treepad to Open Office and you will be my GOD. I will build a
shrine to your name. (I'm only half kidding too) Ok, the original Treepad
is now a freebie. Dosn't do html, text only. The best it can do is insert
the entire url of a file then control/click will open it. But it is lean
and mean. It would be perfect with html ability and insert pictures. I
have Text Notes Pro and that is just gone way overboard. The more evolved
Treepads are ok, except they cannot view a picture like on a web page. I
think. Either have the actual picture in there (huge file size) or provide
a link (too much effort to click to view, then exit). I want the picture to
show just like on a web page, with coding. And in case these pictures ever
get moved around in the future, I would like it to search the hard drive or
cd for the picture, or change all files from C: to E: , etc.
The original treepad now free is just so handy. I keep everything in
there - phone numbers, articles on nutrition, anything interesting I read on
my.yahoo.com just everything.
