Hello, >Congratulations for this fabulous work, >I would like to
know if you plan to integrate the new extentions of Microsoft
Office 2007 (docx….). >Also it would be great that the interface
become customizable by extentions( themes) like firefox. >Thank you
very much.

The "new extension" you refer to is an exclusive Microsoft file format OOXML (Office Open Extensible Markup Language), which is not currently supported in the "official" edition of OOo (OpenOffice.org). This facility is proposed for inclusion in version 3.0.0 expected to be released around September 2008.

As a temporary (maybe permanent) option, you might consider the enhanced version of OOo called "Oxygen Office Professional". This is still OOo, but this edition includes a number of extras and enhancements, one of them being the ability to open MS Office 2007 OOXML files. The conversion is not 100% perfect, but then neither is Microsoft's own Compatibility Pack for earlier versions of MS Office [1].

Oxygen Office Professional can be downloaded from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooop

It is a fairly large download (approx. twice the size of the "official"
edition) and you will need to completely uninstall any current version
of OOo before you install Oxygen Office Professional.

There is already some degree of interface customization possible, but at the present time developers tend to work on functionality, rather than extra "eye candy".

You may also be interested to know that there is an OOo French language project available at: http://fr.openoffice.org

Hope this helps.
