Thank you for the product. Am in the process of making a change from
windows' office. and just installed open office on a friend's computer.
Some of the latest differences between the operation of the two are in
the tab changing and find/replace function which if made easier to
access and use will help make the transition smoother.
The setting of tabs is buried quite deep in the paragraph setup. If this
capability could be accessed from the tool bars it would speed up tab
changing.
In the find/replace function, it is difficult to change return and tab
character without doing a lot of searching on the net. If in the
find/replace window there was a list of special characters or control
characters depending on the terminology that indicate return, tab or etc
it would speed up the replacement.
Have found work arounds on the net or finally found the area in the menu
items in which to make the changes for the terminology is different. .
For doing the work here it is okay but for the friend's computer it
creates a problem as her computer knowledge is quite limited but there
was some exposure to windows office.
One other area that there was a problem occurred when downloading many
bhajans (songs) listings. The copied text ended up with numbers at the
start of each line rather than at the start of each bhajan. Did not find
a way to clear the number with open office so switched to windows'
office and was able to clear them.
Greatly appreciate all that you have done to provide an alternative.
