To Peter: What most people object to is your holding your conference in Beijing in the first place! There are lots of countries you could pick even now! >:o
The choice for Beijing was made because of the people living and working there, that are part of our OpenOffice.org community. It has nothing to do with supporting or blaming the Chinese government for one thing or another. Not holding the OooCon in Beijing will not make much impression on anyone. Making much noise will be embarrassing, if not straight forwarded bringing difficulties, for our friends in Beijing. OpenOffice.org works on a more free and open world. By being present, learning people, sharing, we can do that.
