Then, here are the news today in Norway (to whom Bouvet bleong to): Norway’s efforts to present itself as a champion of human rights suffered another blow on Wednesday, when news emerged that the Norwegian government stepped in to reject an appeal for asylum from long-imprisoned Israeli physicist Mordechai Vanunu. One of two ambulance drivers accused of racism after they refused to take an injured African-Norwegian to hospital last summer has spoken out for the first time. He claims neither he nor his partner were motivated by racism, and instead viewed the victim of a beating as unruly and better aided by police. The physical condition of some Norwegian public schools is so poor that state health and safety regulators have ordered them closed. Rundown facilities, roof leaks and rodent infestation are among the problems. Norwegian flag waving has long played a major role in the country's Constitution Day celebrations on the 17th of May.
