Interesting - thanks for posting that, although being a something of a Luddite, 
I hate the 
Ribbon, I simply hate it - everything is in the 'wrong' place.

Whether I like it or not though, I teach a generation of kids whose parents 
have bought 
MSO '07 for them, with the effect that they see the traditional tool-bar UI as 
'old fashioned' 
and therefore 'not as good'.  Having an option to toggle traditional or ribbon 
interfaces would 
be useful.

Lotus Symphony (OOo 1.x derivative) revamped the interface though - you might 
want to 
take a look at that, though it will change your file associations without 
asking!
