FYI, I heard back from the author of those links. He sounds a little
disappointed and doesn't expect to rewrite, update or otherwise go
further with them. He also doesn't think OOo is going to go anywhere
with it in the foreseeable future.
I have to wonder why, but ... it's not like I'm the first one, I guess.
Envelopes are something that are just so basic to letter writing you'd
think it would be of some importance on the todo lists somewhere; or at
least I would.
Actually, if you want right-side feed envelopes they half-fast work
with a few minor adjustments.
It's when you come to center-fed like my printer that it barfs badly;
I don't think the code is even implemented. It just repeats a left-side
feed, and it calculates things it seems based on margin as opposed to a
size placed within a page and top-centered.
#10 and others that need short-side first are the biggest problem.
Others, such as the # 6 3/4 I made yesterday work fine if you go long
side first and keep portrait mode. I was surprised to find that the
code doesn't even try to get the min margins from the printers; even I
can get that in code. Well, with PHP anyway<g>.
I just can't help wondering why no one wants to tackle it at OO.o
though.
Regards,
Twayne
