Here is an application that may be useful to explore using openoffice.
http://neatco.com has a product for organizing receipts etc. A similar
application where you can import a file from a scanner and save it as a pdf
file. Attach a template to each receipt where you can add comments such as
cheque number, apyment tpe (credit card vs cheque), or account info that you
use in accounting software. You could then create a file in which you could
e-mail to your accountant at any time.
