Sorry that I can't be more help here.
I recently installed OpenOffice 3.0. After a few days, I un-installed it
and re-installed OpenOffice 2.4.
If I tried to open a document from the intro screen, it usually crashed.
Also by trying to open a document using the OLE function linking the
document to the application would have the same results. Afterwards, I
would get the message that OpenOffice wanted to send the data over the
Internet. The problem here is that I send most of my time away from
Internet access.
Now I could open any document from within the designated application.
But most of the time, Open Office 3.0 would crash if I tried to open a
document at any point before the designated application was already up
and running.
I tried repairing it several times, and then tried un-installing it and
re-installing the entire software package 3 times with the same results.
I also downloaded it a 2nd time and installed it with the same results.
This is a bug that needs to be addressed before I can upgrade.
