I use Vista, OO 3.0.1, Office 2007 and Abbyy FineReader version 9. I have just used FineReader ScreenShot Reader to capture mixed text containing English, Greek, Hebrew and Chinese from OO. I then used FineReader to do OCR on that image and turn it into text. I then exported the text to Word 2007.
The results were not perfect: I had to change the resolution size more than once, and some of the less-common characters were not recognized at first, but the test proved that it is possible to get text out of OO with ScreenShot Reader. Perhaps there is a problem with the resolution in your software. Alternatively, you might get better results by changing the font in OO.
