I hope that this is the right LIST; I can't think of anywhere more
appropriate.
Having just installed 3.1.1 I was confronted, as in previous
versions, by the registration dialogue box containing 3
alternatives: Register now Register later Don't register
may this should better read as * register this version (or instance)
now * register this version (or instance) later * don't register
so the idea is to register the product instances per user and not the
just the user.
Fine - I tried this evening, but am confronted with the 35 questions
long questionaire. Not what I want to do with every version I install :-)
Even if I think I'm quite familiar as well with the product as with the
community, I didn't know about this change and therefore didn't register
all my versions (since OOo 1.0).
It was discussed at one of the UX lists.
But remarks about non logic text for users were not picked up...
I have the impression that the intention was just to make it less easy
to skip registration.
Whom to address to modify the wording (and perhaps add a one sentence
explanation as you did here?)
knowing if we have continuous users or how much user in an
heterogeneous environments might be a useful information.

Cor
