MS Office 2007 supports ODF (as of SP2, 2009). However, formatting can get messed when Word opens the doc.
There is also concern over the next version of Office having ODF as part of an 'embrace, extend, extinguish' policy by MS - see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend_and_extinguish In effect, this *could* become a repeat of the death of Netscape - Frontpage saves an HTML file that IE opens but Netscape doesn't/can't/messes up. User concludes Netscape is broken, not the HTML. I'm all for MS using ODF - ending vendor lock-in, etc. However, I don't want to find out I have a bundle of files that claim to be ODF that only Word can open/properly render.
