Hi Andre, actually KOffice already works on the N900, but at it's present form some UI simply doesn't work or is too large to run on the tiny screen. However I had already a N770 and work with Abiword and Gnumerics without much problem. http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/gnumeric/ You can also see most KDE apps running natively on the Maemo N900: http://news.kde.org/2009/10/12/free-n900 During the Gran Canarias desktop summit there was a big talk about KDE moving to the mobile platform, basically not just having a UI for the netbook market but since Nokia owns Trolltech there is a revamped interested to make KDE apps including KOffice run on the mobile space.
