Open Office includes a full suite of programs virtually identical to Microsoft
Office ... including a programme which is effectively the same as PowerPoint.

You can set up your computer to open PowerPoint files in Open Office .. so it
reads the MS files well ... and, should you need to, you can save any Open
Office programme in the Microsoft equivalent.

I find I have to save as MS Word etc when I'm emailing files to friends who
haven't mastered opening Open Office files in their MS equivalent.

Don't delay .... Open Office is terrific!
