It's a dismal record. However, the last two (CollabNet) comments
indicate that the problem of unsubscribed posting /may/ go away:

when attempted to post to the mailing list...
Marking this Resolved/Fixed per CollabNet's policy as the feature is
available
in Discussion Services, the replacement of mailing lists since CEE5.0.
I don't think the above means the problem will go away. The fact that
the UP gets a warning does *not* mean s/he will know how to follow the
thread if s/he isn't copied on replies.
I won't hold my breath.
