BTW: my wife seems to have trouble doing that. She always ends up

a piece of text where everything is using the "default" font, but

font has different size and style at different places ;-(
So when time comes to change things it's a real hassle.

If the problem is that she is changing things (font, point size, ital,
bold, etc.) with direct formatting, you (or she) can simply highlight
the problem text and then choose
Format>Default Formatting
or just use the keyboard-combo
CONTROL+SHIFT+SPACE
This will return it to whatever the default style (or the style in
effect at that point - "Default", "Text body", "Heading 1" or whatever)
is defined to be.
