I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to learn that Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) will drop OOp from the UNR version of the OS. Here are the details: <http://digitizor.com/2010/02/05/openoffice-dropped-from-ubuntu-netbook- edition-10-04/>. I use the crap out of OOo on my System76 Starling netbook. One can only hope that you'll still be able to install OOo through Synaptic. I think a lot of UNR users may be turned off by the idea of downloading directly from the OOo homepage -- we're sort of attached to Synaptic. Make it too hard to get the software, and people will just stop using it.
I see this as a "bad thing" for OOo. mcm --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
