Hi,
I found that Open Office for Windows crashes systematically when
attempting to open a WordML docx document that contains tables
generated with XSL according to the instructions here:
http://www.informit.com/guides/content.aspx?g=xml&seqNum=178
<http://www.informit.com/guides/content.aspx?g=xml&seqNum=178>
See the attached file.
There is something really ugly in there.
Also, registering on the web site does not allow me to login (look for
my email in the registration/login logs on your server).
Thanks,
Mircea.
The support in OOo is for the formats introduced with Office 2007 (an
early version of Office Open XML), not with the Microsoft Office XML
formats, so the file is not recognized as one that OOo can use. Neither
conforms to the "standard" Microsoft pushed through for its future XML
types, so they will lose MS support before too long anyway.
When you refer to Open Office for Windows -- did you actually download
from www.openoffice.org, or somewhere else? Or did you not download and
install at all? Ordinary use of OOo does not require registration on the
web site. Registration is needed for forum participation, submitting
issues, and other things like that, not for using the applications or
for participating in mailing lists like this one (where your messages
are seen by volunteers, not by anybody in OOo administration). Why do
you expect to log in?
By the way, please respond only to the list ([email protected]), so
others can help as needed.
