Along with development (not on OOo but other projects and at my
office job) I also have to write produce extensive documentation
concerning what I create, and I use OOo VERY heavily.

Your reduced system would do me next to no good as it is missing MANY
of the things I used every day, and to extend the ones I need below
what you have there might take up half of my screen.

So if you are talking about a complete replacement for the current menu
system, for me that would not be a worthwhile endeavor.

However, I realize that I may use features regularly that other people
may use less often than I do (multiple windows, page preview, super-
and sub-script, tables operations and vertical alignments, drawing
menus, paragraph and bullet/numbering menu, tables of contents, frames,
footnotes/endnotes, the gallery, properties, variables, and a host of
others.

So if this is a proposal for an ALTERNATE 'ribbon' at the top (like M/S
which I cannot use because it crashes too often to be reliable on
some of the more complex docs I have to work with) then I withdraw any
objection. However if it's "get rid of what's there now and do it this
way instead" I must respectfully disagree.
