I tried to fetch OO.o 3.3.0 from
http://download.openoffice.org
This download promised to take 1 hr 20 minutes. I let it
run. Meanwhile I found a link to mirror sites on the bottom
of the right most column on the OO.o page.
This took me to
http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/#mirrors
where I found that the UK mirror, Virgin Media. This
provided me with a download that was about 10 times faster
than OpenOffice.org's download. It took about 5 or minutes,
finishing long before the OpenOffice.org download. (Same MD5
check sum.)
Weasel Words: My DSL connection claims 7 Mbit/sec. It
achieves thaton a good day. Today is.
I hope this helps some impatient soul.
