understand what you are trying to do. Others on the list will probably

don't actually know the details of the reasons of why you would want
to have it in userspace. The various man pages and documentation on
the Open vSwitch website could give you some more insight.

I use:
--with-l26=/lib/modules/`uname -r`/build

On debian-based systems just make sure you have the linux-headers
package for your kernel installed
