Thanks Ben, This patch made it work for me. I have one more question. I'm trying to run ovs on a cluster of machines that I don't have root on but I can probably get some permissions changed on some things.
I'm wondering if you knew what would be required in order to get ovs-oepnflowd netdev@br0 --ports=eth0 tcp:130.127.39.220:6633 working? Running that I'm getting the following: Apr 09 18:39:32|00001|openflowd|INFO|Open vSwitch version 1.1.0pre2 Apr 09 18:39:32|00002|openflowd|INFO|OpenFlow protocol version 0x01 Apr 09 18:39:32|00003|netdev_linux|ERR|failed to create packet socket: Operation not permitted Apr 09 18:39:32|00004|netdev|ERR|failed to initialize system network device class: Operation not permitted Apr 09 18:39:32|00005|netdev|ERR|failed to initialize internal network device class: Operation not permitted Apr 09 18:39:32|00006|netdev|ERR|failed to initialize tap network device class: Operation not permitted Apr 09 18:39:32|00007|netdev|WARN|could not create netdev br0 of unknown type tap Apr 09 18:39:32|00008|dpif|WARN|failed to create datapath br0: Address family not supported by protocol ovs-openflowd: could not create datapath (Address family not supported by protocol) Thanks, Aaron On Fri, Apr 8, 2011 at 7:42 PM, Ben Pfaff <[email protected]> wrote: > On Fri, Apr 08, 2011 at 04:05:27PM -0400, Aaron Rosen wrote: > > I'm trying to use ovs without the kernel module.
