Hi Guys,
  Thanks for your response. Just to be clear can this be done by running 
ovs-vswitchd, setting up mirroring 
using ovs-vsctl and then setting up/modifying some flows using ovs-ofctl 
(assuming ovs-ofctl can be used 
along with ovs-switchd). Or do I need to go with ovs-openflowd and then 
defining all the flows using 
ovs-ofctl/open flow primitives for a learning bridge and then for the policy 
based port mirroring.
