Bridge compatibility was removed from version 1.10.0, as mentioned in NEWS:
http://openvswitch.org/releases/NEWS-1.10.0
Due to major restructuring in this release, maintaining it would have been very
difficult. This also brings the kernel module more in line with the upstream
version, which has never supported bridge compatibility.
