As you are using a version of Linux of 4.3 or newer, as you mentioned, there is no need to install the out-of-tree datapath. Unless you really want it, but I would guess you don't have any particular reason to use it. Linux 4.3 is recent enough for OVS use. By the way, why did you downgrade from 4.4?
