All,
Some of you might be interested in reading the
introduction to my book. A draft is available at:
http://www.knosof.co.uk/cbook/cbook.html
The material of interest to this mailing list is
pages 55 to 138 (the end of the introduction).
The applications of this material are scattered
over the remaining 1,800 pages (which the Easter
Bunny may be able to supply, but I suspect the
majority of readers on this list will find these
other pages of no interest {mostly heavy duty C
language stuff}).
The formatting is still suspect in places (especially
the tables {in tables 5-8 the digits to the right should be
superscripts}). All that side bar stuff makes sense in
the main body, honest. Anyway, I know all of you are
more interested in the words. The references are
about 50% converted to BibTex format. I will post
them once they are complete.
The intent of this material is explained on page 25.
Material on reading, visualization, mathematical cognition,
and reasoning appears in later sections. I will add links
to them, once they are presentable.
The material is aimed at people reading/writing source code.
Design and related issues get a brief mention. Somebody
else can discuss this in another book.
Feedback most welcome.
derek
