about a topic that may well not be the most important research topic in
programming, you should look at

yesterday.

Sorry, but how do any of us know whether or not a research topic is important or not 
until we have done the research? Guessing is not really a good way to do this. For all 
we know, readability of code may have a huge effect on error rates - it is quite clear 
that all we have is conjecture and no hard evidence.
