Maintainability is a very important issue (or at least its high cost is). Maintenance is done by people and so cognitive factors are likely to be the dominant factors. Exactly which cognitive factors are dominant and their impact on maintenance costs is something of an unknown. So you have plenty to research. You are just starting out on your research and I would recommend that you base it on the results of experiments and measurements. To much existing research is based on theoretical discussions of 'interesting' ideas. This is a complete waste of time. derek -- Derek M Jones tel: +44 (0) 1252 520 667 Knowledge Software Ltd mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Applications Standards Conformance Testing http://www.knosof.co.uk ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PPIG Discuss List ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Discuss admin: http://limitlessmail.net/mailman/listinfo/discuss Announce admin: http://limitlessmail.net/mailman/listinfo/announce PPIG Discuss archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40ppig.org/
