Hello everyone, Recently i found the PPIG website, with a lot of interesting material regarding programming and programming understanding, very useful for my Master graduation at the Utrecht University, the Netherlands. My thesis research is about Helium program analysis based on program loggings. Although i already found some reading material about this, I am very much interested in more about this subject. Analysing the logs would hopefully give us a better understanding of the use of the language and give us ideas for improving the Helium compiler.
Helium is a functional language developed for novice programmers, which implements a large subset of Haskell. Via the PPIG site i already found an article about BlueJ by M.C. Jadud, an environment in which program logging of novice programmers has been analysed for Java. It gives many interesting reading point to rather old papers. If any of you have also interesting, recent links, i would be very much pleased to hear about it. Subjects of particular interests are: error message understanding, programming/compilation behaviour, measurements for program code complexity and measurements for expressing program comparison. Greetings and thanks in advance, Peter van Keeken links: the mentioned research: http://www.jadud.com/people/mcj/files/2004-PPIG-flcbBlueJ.pdf ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PPIG Discuss List ([email protected]) Discuss admin: http://limitlessmail.net/mailman/listinfo/discuss Announce admin: http://limitlessmail.net/mailman/listinfo/announce PPIG Discuss archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40ppig.org/
