Hi John

Do you know of Joseph Goguen and algebraic semiotics? See

"cognition in understanding and using programming
languages and development environments"

Is this for 'novices' or professional programmers?

Subject: PPIG discuss: Conceptual blending theory and PPIG

Hello,

I'm interested in applying the conceptual blending theory (Fauconnier &
Turner) to analyze the cognition in understanding and using programming
languages and development environments. Specifically, I'm trying to analyze
the aspects in aspect oriented software development (aosd.net) within the
framework of distributed cognition (Hutchins) to develop a methodology for
programming language and tools design.

I'm new to the PPIG field and any related references would be approciated.

John
