I do remember hearing somewhere [hearsay] that the development team for Office is relatively small… If I remember correctly it was described as being in the order of 50 people.

 

Treat this with ‘extreme caution’. It is memory from a conversation, that I barely remember, with no substantiated source.

 

If I remember where I heard this, or can find a citation I’ll let you know.

Does anyone have any data/hearsay/personal opinions on the total size of the development team for Microsoft Office?
I'm interested in total team size - requirments analysts, designers, coders, testors, usability specialists, etc.

Along with the team size number, a code size metric would also be useful.
