I am in the US (Utah) and I am experiencing pretty poor response from home and work - both are high-speed connections and the reslet pages are significantly slower than most other sites I encounter. For example, www.reslet.org just took about 10 seconds to load, much of it waiting for the logo. The javadoc pages took 5 - 10 sec. The tutorial text came up fairly fast, but I waited on the images for about 8 - 10. I think 5 sec. is a long time for a simple web page. My employer's web site, Overstock.com, is complex and takes less than 5 sec (about 2 sec for most people). Some of the pages, however do seem to be quite speedy, just a few seconds.
I've been downloading current.zip, 6.8 MB, it's half done, and that has taken 5 minutes. The max throughput I saw was about 750Kb/sec. I'm at home now but I saw the same performance at work. I live about 25 miles from work so there may be a common denominator. If anyone else is trying this, remember to flush your browser cache first. Sean
