My code is not a Component or Application. It just a Plain Old Restlet.
Because it is invoked by a ServletConverter, I thought that if I set the status
to 404, that it would magically behave like a Servlet. When a Servlet raises a
404, the container (Tomcat) has a default error page that is displayed.
Apparently my assumptions about the ServletConverter were invalid. I have now
added a StatusService to my Restlet which handles the Status and the
Representation. This is a better approach anyway since it gives me more control
over the appearance of the error page. Thanks for your replies.
