Its would be hard to support all the JSON libraries around. Another one we have in our radar is Jackson for its better JSON <-> Object serialization mechanism: Add support for Jackson http://restlet.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=812 How would JSON-Lib compare to our current JSON and XStream/Jettison extensions, and to Jackson? In any case, you could build your own extension for JSON-Lib and propose it.
