Hello Paul, does your classpath contain only the "org.restlet.jar" archive? Could you try using the httpclient extension or the net extension? You simply need to update the classpath with a list of archives (delivered by the jse distribution for example). You can have a look here : http://wiki.restlet.org/docs_2.1/13-restlet/37-restlet.html
